Quelques reponses du DGA de referencement.com sur le Jdnet

French retailers : who are your next competitors?

I place two bets :

1. The US internet retailers who are facing hard times on their market due to the economy and the competition. While expanding in Europe was too expansive a while ago, it make more sense with the maturity of ecommerce. They can rely on their website, CRM, know how in marketing and advertising, and mainly focus on the logisitics issues. The Ebay, Expedia, Amazon have done it, only pure players … there’s no reason, the big retailers won’t try to come : Neimann marcus, nordstrom, saks, macy’s, jcp….

2. The Zara and H&M : they have made a revolution on their way of changing the collection very often, they have the DNA to be very efficient online…. Zara Home is already selling online…

Win the fat man race!

This sentence from Richard Last, VP business development of J.C Penney summarize the mood of many retailers. The U.S economy has a real impact on the business, the weight of the Internet and it’s impact in all the business is becoming an issue as the real question is : how to control it?

The ecommerce guys from the US want know to be back to the old days, focusing on e-commerce while nobody cared about…

Multichannel, measurement, speed …. is changing radically their way of doing business…

On the train – On my way to the Paris – Shop.org Dinner

trying to try to know something about multichannel for tonight. Tight. This is going to be excited, the meetings held today between Jcp and 3 suisses went great. Seems these companies are facing the same issue : the decline of their catalogue business.
What else : the net has overpassed the catalog for JCP! Even with not including the sales made online by the sales associate!. Internet&multichannel is really becoming an issue for those companies. In which channel to invest? how to measure channel results? What to do with the big book?….
Will try to post more soon…
